Thank you all for another week of dedication, cooperation and contribution at BIBS! We wish you a very relaxing and wonderful National Day Holiday. Safe travels in the golden week! We will see you back at school on October 8th, Monday, 2018.
Upper East Side Campus
October Holiday- We wish everyone a safe and happy holidays; classes resume on the 8th October.
UES Select Teams– The UES Select Teams for Football (U9 and U11) participate in the JISAC competition on the 10th and 11th of October immediately after the October Holidays, we wish them all the best.
ASA Payments– thanks to all the parents that have completed the ASA payments in a timely manner. Unfortunately, 30% of the parents have not yet paid, it is a waste of office staff’s time and resources to check records and reissue invoices. Please make prompt payment the October break.
Scholastic– The Scholastic representatives had had trouble getting the catalogues distributed out to all the schools before the October Holiday; we expect to have them first week back. We will send out more information when we have it.
It definitely needs to be said that the G6-8 CAMP WAS AWESOME! I think between the great photos, the stories and exhaustion, there were a lot of lasting memories made. For a lot of our students and staff there were first time experiences. Some had never built rafts, others never cooked outdoors or had to rely on their classmates quite so much. It was quite special to see the changes that happened just over the three days. On the first day the hike challenged some of our group and the screams when a millipede walked across a trail tested our ear drums. However, as the time flew by students got braver, more confident, and more caring.
For all of our group the camp exposed them to new activities and challenges and they are stronger mentally (and physically) for meeting the challenge. I would like to give a big thank you to all the parents who supported the camp, the staff who attended the camp and to Imagine who provided the safety and expertise to make it a fantastic experience.
On behalf of all the MSHS staff we would also like to wish you a safe and happy holiday. For those who are travelling we wish you a safe journey and look forward to seeing all of our students refreshed and back in class soon.
Last week our Junior Boys Football team played against Springboard International School and secured a comfortable victory. This week our volley ball teams played against Hope International School. We will be putting out a schedule of sporting fixtures after the holiday and parents are welcome to come along and support our teams.
Congratulations to the U14 boys football team on their well deserved victory in a challenge match against Springboard International School. The scoreline was 8-0 to BIBS. A special mention to man of the match who scored 4 goals, and another one scored 2 and assisted 2. Both boys are in Grade 7.
The U19 volleyball girls team from BIBS played a tough game against the fierce opponent HIS Knights, the BIBS Titans won the 2nd set and the school lifted their voices and hands in the air in amazement! We look forward to playing HIS again in the end of season tournament. Great job girls !

We hope that you all had a wonderful time with your family, relatives and friends on Monday while you were celebrating the Mid–Autumn Festival. The weather was very pleasant and the air quality was exceptional for this time of the year.
On Tuesday the school was blessed to have a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet a real life hero. Barbara Morgan a NASA Astronaut met with the ES students from Shunyi and Dongrun and some of our Shunyi MSHS students. Barbara talked about her preparation experiences in the lead up to her trip into space. She shared some wonderful pictures taken while onboard the spaceship Endeavour and talked about life on a spaceship in outer space. After her presentation she took and answered questions from the student body.
On Wednesday the ES Chinese staff witnessed the results of their efforts with the ES students to put together the ES Mid-Autumn Festival celebration in the Shunyi gym. The students put on a two-hour schedule of activities, which included readings, poems, singing and dancing. There was a wonderful turn out from the parents and senior staff from within the school as well. A special thank you to our ES Chinese Department and all the other staff members who helped to make this wonderful event possible and successful.
The BIBS Shunyi Campus ES team would like to wish you all the very best during the upcoming National Holiday from school. May your celebrations and travels be fun and safe ones.

PARENT MORNING TEAS
Over the past 5 weeks the Principal has hosted a morning tea for all of the various grades in our school. The aim of these morning teas was to take the time to get to know each other better, get to know the school leaders and have an opportunity to ask questions about their child’s Grade and any other general school information. The Principal wishes to thank all those parents who took the time to attend these morning teas and we look forward to developing ongoing positive relationships in our school community.
IPC PARENT PRESENTATION
On Wednesday, October 24 at 6:30-7:30pm we will be providing a presentation for any parent interested in finding our more information about the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) here at Dongrun. This presentation will be particularly helpful to those parents that are new to the school and would like to find out more information about the IPC.
